Abstract :
In this contribution we address the problem of joint detection and localization of primary transmitters in a cognitive radio network using distributed antenna systems. We develop a mathematical framework that models wideband spectrum sensing of multiple time and frequency overlapped primary user signals with arbitrary placement of sensing antennas. The proposed method is based on a modified MUSIC algorithm for direct localization. Simulation results have shown that the algorithm can detect and localize spectrally overlapped signals with high resolution and within short sensing time in wide range of SNRs.
