Abstract :
Results of primary investigations of parameters of electron beam generated in a Mather type PF device as well as results of the interaction of this beam with a plane CD2 target are presented. The total energy, generation duration and electron beam current have been defined. The influence of target presence upon neutron yield has been studied at PF device chamber filled with deuterium, and the degree of neutron generation has been defined at chamber filled with hydrogen. 2–5 times higher neutron generation yield was found in the first case, and neutron generation up to 2×106 with hydrogen filled chamber.
