Abstract :
Plasma heating (n =1014-5.1015cm-3) by REB (150 keV, 30-50 kA, 110 ns) was studied experimentally. Soft X-ray, optical and neutral particle diagnostics were employed for analysis of the plasma parameters. Bulk of plasma electrons is heated up to 20-50 eV and a group of overthermal electrons carrying substantial part of the plasma energy is detected. Results of the optical measurements suggest some heating of the ion plasma component.
