Abstract :
Mathematical model of a single-phase topology of a boost converter with input-output filters for the current control of a fuel cell-battery hybrid system is presented in this paper. The analysis of the system is carried out by computer simulation in MATLAB-SIMULINK. The fuel cell current ripple requirement of 4% is satisfied by suitable choice of the converter´s and filters´ components. The procedure for components´ values selection is given in the paper. The fuel cell current slope requirement of 4 A/s is satisfied by PI current controller with a rate limiter in the reference signal branch. The procedure for the controller design is also given in the paper. By using the proposed procedures, the converter output current has very small ripple as well.
