  • Abstract
The integration of information systems has been attempted at different scales of operation: within one organisation, across multiple organisations, for an infrastructure using standards such as CORBA and DCE. It is not easy to assemble application systems using off-the-shelf CORBA objects under the prevailing infrastructure. The main problem of integration still remains that real-world objects can be modelled in many different ways. We propose to solve this multifaceted problem, by concentrating only on the information shared across information systems, while the information that concerns an individual information system only, is not considered.
