Abstract
The article presents an improved algorithm for the filter transfer function approximation. It is derived from our previously published algorithm based on Differential Evolution Algorithm and expands its applicability for approximations of digital and discrete-time analog filters. It also easily allows a comparison the obtained transfer functions of the variable "s" and "z". The algorithm is implemented as a procedure in mathematical program Maple and its functionality is demonstrated on a concrete example.
