Abstract :
Summary form only given. Systems with nonlinear and dispersive characteristics exhibit a wide range of signal shaping and pulse forming properties, including formation of solitons, particle waves in plasmas, hydrodynamic waves and impulses or RF signals in high power electrical circuits. During the past few years there has been increased interest within the pulsed power community in forming high power RF and impulse waveforms using nonlinear and dispersive electrical circuits. There is now a wide range of circuits described in the literature, using different nonlinear media and different dispersive characteristics to produce high power electrical signals.
