Abstract
A novel analytical design procedure of almost equiripple FIR half-band filters is developed. The design is based on the generating function related to the Jacobi´s polynomials. The differential equation for the generating function is presented. A formula for the impulse response coefficients of the filter is derived. One example of the design is included.
