Abstract
An extended analysis of probability of error in synchronous code-division multiple-access (CDMA) techniques for fiber-optic local area networks (FO-LAN), using modified prime sequence codes (MPSC), is presented. Particular attention is devoted to the influence of multi-user interference (m.u.i) effects on the system capacity. An improvement using an optical hard-limiter is proposed, and conclusions about the number of simultaneous users and the complexity of these systems are given.
