Abstract :
This paper provides a new approach towards sideslip velocity autopilot design for an agile missile using hybrid Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control. The proposed hybrid PID controller is derived by replacing the conventional PI controller by a two-input normalized linear fuzzy logic controller and implementing the conventional D controller in an incremental form. Genetic Algorithms (GA) are used to facilitate optimal tuning of the controller gains. Simulation results on an agile missile model demonstrate that the proposed controller is effective, robust and has great potential in many other industrial applications.
