Centrum

Centrum is a knowledge management Web site focused in tourism, which helps improving analysis and optimizing decision-making process, by using innovative visualization tools. Centrum uses information generated by the Municipality of the Metropolitan District of Quito through its open data Web site (http://datosabiertos.quito.gob.ec), and is expected to include additional information from other actors of the value chain of the sector. It was created in order to ensure a single repository of knowledge for the tourism sector, with updated, timely, useful, integrated and easily accessible information. Individuals and companies involved in the production chain of tourism, such as hotel services, lodging, tourism operators, travel agencies, transportation services, food and drinks services are the target group. It could also be used by public entities responsible for establishing economic and sectorial policies.
