Abstract :
The investigation of students´ attitudes towards science and technology has been a substantive feature of the work of the science education research community for the past 30 to 40 year. In order to investigate Chinese students´ attitudes towards science & technology, we conducted a survey of high school students´ attitudes towards science & technology through the instruments from PISA science 2006. The instruments include four parts: students´ interest in science & technology; students´ attitudes about general science and technology; students´ attitudes towards science career; students participated in science related activities. The samples of this survey is 6356, valid is 6238, which from 20 high schools in four provinces across China. The findings of this survey are: (1) respondents are much interested in science and technology; (2) 57.6% of respondents would like to pursue in science related careers, 67.8 % of respondents would like to study science after high school studying; (4) most of respondents are positive to science and technology. This paper also gives some suggestions for cultivating students´ attitudes towards science.
