  • Abstract
As government agencies and enterprises become increasingly interested in including the climate factors into their decision making and management processes, there is growing demand for easy-to-use cost-effective climate characterization tools. Among the various kinds of climate characterization tools, climate models are most commonly accepted as an effective tool for summarizing known climate information and supporting decision-making. So far, most of the climate models are produced for certain specific research purposes. These models are often expensive to build and hard to be reused by other applications and modelling projects. The paper reviews the challenges for reusing and integrating climate models. At the end of this paper, we will give a brief introduction to the research problem statement we identify in reusing the climate models for ondemand model integration based on user requirements.
