Abstract :
Artificial companions consist of a set of robots or virtual entities taking part in our life to offer services or provide a social presence. The expectation of final users is actually not clearly established because an artificial companion is an abstract concept with no real existence. This paper aims to study the different dimensions that should be taken into account to guide a user-centred design method to establish the specifications required for an artificial companion.
