  • Abstract
    Endoscopic image enhancement has become a popular research area after the success of minimally invasive interventions and the innovation of new technological diagnosis tools such as the wireless capsule endoscopy. In spite of the great advances achieved in image processing and enhancement, only few techniques can be adapted for endoscopic images. This can be explained by the specifications of the acquisition process and the special characteristics of the endoscopic environment. This paper presents a comparative study of image enhancement techniques for endoscopic images. We propose then a new enhancement process producing better results in terms of endoscopic stereo matching and wireless endoscopy images classification.
