Abstract :
In this paper, a planar ultra-wideband antenna (UWB) is analyzed and different methods for creating notches are adopted for efficient WLAN frequency rejection. The antenna is mounted on a dielectric substrate having a value of 3.38. The antenna has a bandwidth of 7.22 GHz and a gain of 1.13 dB. Three different novel approaches for creating notches are presented followed by their comparative study. Efficient stop-bands can be obtained in the frequency range of 5-6 GHz thereby rejecting WLAN frequency. The antenna exhibits stable radiation patterns. All the analysis is done in HFSS 2013.
