Abstract :
The magnetic field distribution and eddy current density of the permanent magnet eddy current coupling has a great influence on the performance of the coupling. If the air gap between the inner and outer rotor is far less than the axial size, and negligible side effect, then the coupling of magnetic field can be simplified as a two-dimensional planar magnetic field. First of all, the mathematical model of magnetic field and eddy current should be created, then use MATLAB to carry on the numerical calculation, Finally use ANSYS Maxwell finite element analysis to verify. The performance of thickness of air gap, thickness of yoke irons, thickness of permanent magnets and thickness of the copper ring was studied respectively, to provide useful guidance to both design and practical application of magnetic coupling.
