Abstract :
This paper presents a mass-production-ready low-cost fully integrated 2.4GHz ZigBee transceiver in 180nm CMOS. Optimized from architecture to circuitry design, it is able to coexist with Wi-Fi/BT/Cordless Telephone/Microwave Oven systems in the absence of external filtering components. The transceiver employs an on-chip Balun to realize simultaneous impedance matching for the TX and RX, which share one RF port for single-antenna configuration. IIP2 self-calibration is integrated in the inductor-less RX to avoid sensitivity degradation due to intermodulation. The RX achieves -97dBm sensitivity, 75dB DR, and 50dBm calibrated IIP2 while dissipating 23.5mA DC current. The TX features +3dBm output power, 7% EVM, 41dB 2nd-order and 54dB 3rd-order harmonic rejection without external filtering.
