Abstract :
Space science is a field that is gaining much attention of students and society in Malaysia after the success of sending an astronaut to the International Space Station (ISS). This pilot study aims to investigate secondary school students´ perception and attitude towards space science in Malaysia. The study was conducted by using a questionnaire containing 10 items measuring students´ perception and 9 items measuring students´ attitude. Respondents for this study consisted of 458 students (16 years old) from six selected secondary schools in Selangor, Malaysia. The results showed high levels of students´ perception and positive attitude towards space science. The results also indicated that there was a significant correlation between students´ perception with students´ attitude towards space science.
