  • Abstract
A mobile trolley allows engineers to do integration work at various parts of the satellite body, thus preventing mishandling of the satellite. Unfortunately, the existing height multi-purpose satellite trolley in Satellite Assembly, Integration and test facility of Malaysia Space Centre is not an adjustable type and there is no platform to work safely around the satellite. Existing conditions in the facility and limitation on the Thermal Vacuum Chamber requires a multi-purpose trolley to be custom-made. Thus, there is a need to design and develop a Motorized Adjustable Vertical Platform (MAVeP) for Satellite Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) Facility. The MAVeP is expected to ensure the smoothness of AIT operation without jeopardizing the safety of the spacecraft. Not only that, the MAVeP is also expected to minimize handling risks as it will provide direct access to the satellite. In addition, this project will also help the researcher to gain knowledge and increase skill in designing mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE) from the design process up to development and integration.
