  • Abstract
For a high penetration of intermittent renewable energy sources, the transmission capacity constraints become more important for secure and economic operation of power systems because of the high variability in the transmission line current. In this study, the fundamental characteristics of the dynamic optimal power flow are analyzed with the line-temperature constraints in transmission networks. Numerical simulations show that the load reduction induced by the current variation can be reduced by the line-temperature constraints rather than the current constraints.
