Abstract :
This paper presents a direct maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for small scale wind generator based on permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM). The PMSM is connected to the load through three-phase diode bridge and DC-DC converter. The proposed MPPT algorithm avoids the effect of sluggish mechanical dynamic characteristic of wind turbine. A test bench based on wind turbine emulator is used to experimentally validate the implementation of this MPPT method. The obtained results are satisfactory even if the method is slightly limited in terms of efficiency and accuracy.
