Abstract
This paper examines effectiveness of load demand preview to improve load frequency control (LFC) performance. We additionally incorporate the H2 preview output feedback law into the pre-designed PI control system, and remove the offsets due to the constant load demands. For the fluctuating load demands, it is observed that the frequency variation is attenuated by adjusting the preview compensation appropriately.
