Abstract :
In this paper, a model is presented to solve the problem of combined heat and power (CHP) dispatch. The system under consideration consists of both thermal generators and wind turbines. The wind power is a random variable following the Beta distribution, which is mainly used for the short-term forecasting. In the proposed model, the probability of wind power is included in the constraint set. A computer program is developed to implement the model. Results of numerical simulations for a generic system are presented. It is shown that the effects of wind power on the generated power and heat can be readily assessed. The proposed approach can be extended to large systems with a series of forecasted wind parameters.
