Abstract
Due to its working modes, the Switching Mode Power Supply (SMPS) has low electromagnetic compatibility with other systems, such as Langmuir probes used in ion-source accelerators for heating plasma. Its high-frequency Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) is analyzed for its bias power suppl y of its core snubber. Located in the same HV pole of the accelerator, the EMI of SMPS lets its Langmuir probes work abnormally. The paper analyzes the generation mechanism of noise sources in the conduction tests based on the concepts of common-mode (CM) and differential-mode (DM), and establishes interference model for the conduction of high-frequency SMPS on the common grid system of the Tokamak accelerator. To suppress the conduction effects, the EMI filter was employed. The implemented filter in SMPS is tested at experimental systems. The results show that it can significantly eliminate conducted interference as a considerable level which verifies the analysis method.
