Abstract :
We designed a high voltage power supply to to drive a magnetron injection gun. This high voltage power supply needs the output voltage of -40 kV for few seconds continuously. The required output power rate is 280 kW. It also have to be designed for the rise and fall time to be less than 1 ms with the ripple stability of output voltage of lower than 1%. To satisfy the requirements, we used eight high voltage power supplies operated in parallel. Each high voltage power supply can supply the current of -0.9 A and the voltage of -40 kV, and is operated by phase shifted PI control. The high voltage on-off control is performed by controlling the gate drive pulse. In this paper, we present the design and the simulation and test results of it.
