Abstract
Batch reactor temperature control is quite complicated because of production requirements and the complex internal mechanism with time-varying parameters and large time delay. A DMC (Dynamic Matrix Control) strategy is employed to optimize and adjust PID controller parameters adaptively according to the working condition, so that the batch reactor temperature can be controlled stably and robustly. The comparison with PFC (Predictive Functional Control)-PID and conventional PID is made by simulation. It is observed that the proposed method for batch reactor temperature control has better dynamic and static characteristics in the presence of external disturbance, time delay and model parameters mismatch.
