Abstract :
For the problem of back-to-back PWM converter open circuit fault in wind power generation system, the operation principle and fault classification standard of PWM converter are introduced. Based on the hardware redundancy, a fault tolerance strategy for back-to-back PWM converter open circuit fault is presented in this paper. According to the symmetrical structure, using the switching device, the grid side converter and rotor side converter compensate each other´s function well, and the fault tolerant feature of back-to-back PWM converter is realized. The simulation results verify the validity of the proposed method.
