Abstract
This paper presents an improved deadbeat current control strategy based on repetitive predictor applied to D-STATCOM for reactive power compensation. The deadbeat algorithm is used to design the current loop in α-β stationary frame. A repetitive controller is added in the compensating current prediction to reduce prediction error and enhance the accuracy of control. Since the grid frequency variation would result in poor performance of the repetitive controller, a modified FIR low-pass filter with frequency adaptive function is proposed. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.
