  • Abstract
Ten years ago, to solve a problem while using an atomic force microscope for a quantum mechanics experiment, I came up with the idea of carving MEMS directly on the cleaved end of an optical fiber. Since then, that concept has evolved into a series of devices designed for the implementation of novel experiments in fundamental sciences and for the utilization in commercial applications. In my talk, I will review the most important results that my colleagues and I have obtained following this approach.
