Abstract
This paper presents the simulation analysis of analytic cross correlation approach and phase approach for time delay estimation of down-converted signals with phase difference, which is induced in the down-converting process. Second cross correlation and Welch spectrum are utilized for better performance for the time domain and frequency domain approach, respectively. Comparing the statistics of simulation results of these algorithms in a variety of signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs), it shows that the analytic second cross correlation method exhibits a little better performance at a moderate SNR while the phase method based on Welch spectrum exhibits much better performance at a low SNR.
