Abstract
The last decade has witnessed a huge number of innovations and new technologies which have impacted our routines and have simplified our lives. Higher Education is an exception to this scenario and still in its nascent stage when it comes to technology adoption and collaboration. This paper attempts to figure out the reasons and suggest remedial measures. The world around us is moving so fast and higher education is witnessing greater challenges to keep pace. While the resources are likely to decline, it is high time for New models, innovation and entrepreneurism to ensure that higher education continues to meet society´s needs. Information Technology can come handy to support the needs of Higher Education. Cloud computing is revolutionizing the way data is stored and handled and it is bound to play a crucial role in future technologies. So, this paper is an attempt to explore how Cloud computing services can be leveraged by higher education systems to overcome the challenges.
