Abstract
Within the RiSEM project (Seismic Risk of Monumental Building) two different kinds of GPR measurements were performed. The first one was carried out by using an ultra dynamic range - ultra high resolution GPR in order to investigate the presence of hypogeal structures under the “Piazza della Cisterna” (Cistern Square). The second one was carried out by using a non contact 4-8 GHz GPR system specifically design for masonry investigations. In this case the measurement was performed on one of the bearing walls of “Torre Grossa” (Big Tower).
