Abstract
The approach to make bigger dynamic range of the ultrawideband GPR is discussed. To increase the signal to noise ratio of the stroboscopic receiver it is suggested changing (adjusting) its working frequency band when receiving reflected signals coming from different depths. To provide changing of the frequency band a sampling converter was used with adjustable duration of the sampling gate. Variation of the gate sampling is controlled by the computer of the GPR system. The dependencies between the transmission coefficient of the converter, noise level of the stroboscopic receiver, and the sampling gate duration have been analyzed. The paper demonstrates how the adjustable frequency bandwidth influences the dynamic range of the stroboscopic receiver.
