Abstract :
Positioning awareness has great potential in lot of different field. The basic positioning technique being used in worldwide requires information like anchor nodes location and the distance between anchors to the blind node. This means that ranging technique plays an important role other than known position of anchor nodes in the position estimation accuracy. Doppler ranging technique is a multiple frequencies ranging technique that promises better solution than available basic single frequency ranging techniques. However this technique is only applicable and widely used in radar application. This paper will propose a modified of Dual- frequency Doppler radar technique for one-way propagation. The performance of this new technique will be evaluated for different frequency pair with different frequency separation in different noise variance level. Results showed that frequency separation of 50MHz is the best suited for one-way short-range ranging application.
