Abstract
Smart building is a trend towards the Buildings Automation paradigm. Smart building aims to autonomously control devices and systems in given environment. These devices and systems are nevertheless supervised by facility management. The facility management normally is aided by heterogeneous systems and applications. Due to multifarious data of the systems, applications, and missing semantics in building automation, the data is manually handed by facility management, for analysis and decision making. Therefore, such a system is required to integrate such multi-form data of various systems and applications. Hence, Semantic Web technology is proposed in this paper for the data integration. The paper explains development of Semantic Web Model for BIM systems, used at Masaryk University. The model links various systems, which are used for facility management, and is applicable in different environments. The model not only provide base for analysis and decision making for facility management, but also facilitate developers to focus on front-end of application. Hence, the aim is to structure the data for simplifying the queering mechanism used for analysis.
