Abstract :
The concept of a mechatronic bird has been developed by researchers over the years, to mimic the flight patterns of birds in nature. The developed mechatronics bird (MechaBird) described in this paper, explains the integration of the mechanical, electronic and software engineering that allows for the future evaluation of flight characteristics of a semi-autonomous, mechatronics bird, when adjustments are made to it that might have an effect on the efficiency of the system. The mechanical design and construction is explained with the results obtained of controlled flight motion tests.
