Abstract
The multiple electrode excitation strategy has been applied in two-dimensional electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) sensors to improve the image quality. The aim of this research is to investigate the performance of multi-electrode excitation strategy in three-dimensional (3D) ECT sensor. Three different excitation strategies are considered for comparison, including the single-electrode excitation, dual-electrode excitation in the same plane and dual-electrode excitation in different planes. The optimal number of iterations based on the maximum correlation coefficients is used to reconstruct the images using simulation data by Landweber iteration algorithm. Simulation results show that the single-electrode excitation strategy outperforms the other two strategies.
