Abstract
This paper proposes a 3D shape and color estimation method based on the photometric stereo method that uses images taken from multiple linear light sources. The proposed method can estimate partial object shape accurately. Hence we estimate multiple object shapes with different light source positions, extract partial object shapes and integrate them. In addition we also use the binocular stereo method to estimate depth at edge parts and integrate its result. An actual experimental situation is simulated and the 3D shape of the target object is measured using the synthetic images. From the result of experiment, the proposed method is effective for measuring the whole 3D shape of an object.
