Abstract
This paper deals with electrical insulation properties of two kinds of olefin-based thermosetting resin, namely poly-dicyclopentadiene and poly-tricyclopentadiene, to understand the applicability to electrical insulating materials. We measured the complex relative permittivity and breakdown strength by 1 min. steps in those specimens under high temperature. Those properties of a commonly used epoxy resin are also evaluated for comparison. As a result, it is elucidated that those olefin-based thermosetting resins have the potential for application to an electrical insulating material under high temperature.
