Abstract :
A directional radiated antenna with compact size is proposed based the slot Yagi-Uda like configuration in this paper. Meandered slot is employed firstly to reduce the antenna size, while a large ground plane is essential to maintain the performances of the antenna, which is too bulky for the antenna operated at UHF band. Another meandered slot that can be considered as a reflector is then installed under the driven slot antenna to replace the conventional ground plane to achieve directional pattern. An antenna working at UHF radio-frequency identification (RFID) band is designed, fabricated and measured to validate the proposed methodology.
