Abstract
In wireless ad hoc networks, the energy of nodes is limited, and performance of network will be affected if the battery is exhausted. This paper presents an improved energy-saving routing which is applied to ad hoc networks so as to prolong the network lifetime for larger data processing and data transmission. This algorithm is based on AODV, and the innovation of our approach is the introduction of the fixed delay functions instead of random delay mechanism. In order to validate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm, performance comparisons with original AODV and MMBCR protocols have been carried out in the paper.
