Abstract
We propose a novel method of transmit power selection to realize the Coverage and Capacity Optimization (CCO) function in LTE networks. We discuss how to use genetic algorithms to reconfigure the transmit power to realize the Self-Organized Network (SON) functions: maximize the network throughput offered to the clients and minimize the cost of the reconfiguration when a new base station is added to the network. The analysis shows that the performance of proposed local reconfiguration (measured as the total network throughput) compared to the global reconfiguration differs by less than 2% and reduces the number of reconfigured eNodesB by more than 50%.
