Abstract
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) power optimization is an ongoing research issue directed towards achieving low power consumption while retaining desired performance. Various techniques for such optimization exist, oriented at different levels of a WSN. One approach is a data aggregation method for an application oriented WSN. This technique involves in-network data aggregation allowing a faster information delivery, saving a transmission energy and reducing a network congestion. The data aggregation method implies replacing a network coordinator with the data aggregation node capable of processing aggregated data. In this paper we propose ARM architecture-based WSN Data Aggregation Node (A-WDAN), capable of an aggregated data processing and a faster data delivery. Considering WSN energy constrains, the proposed work analyzes and provides a power optimization of the WSN data aggregation node. The obtained results show that A-WDAN consumes less energy on site, enabling a more efficient data aggregation processing which uses less energy for RF data transmission.
