Abstract :
Compressive Sampling (CS) has recently emerged as a groundbreaking technique which reconstructs the sparse signal using samples taken below Nyquist sampling frequency (sub-Nyquist samples). In this paper we consider to estimate the Direction of Arrival (DOA) of wideband signals using sub-Nyquist samples. In a sensor array, the time delay between two sensors depends on the position of source and thus estimating it is equivalent to finding the DOA of the source. The time delay could be estimated using the cross-correlation of the signals received at the sensor array. Since the cross-correlation of wideband signals is sparse in nature with peaks at the time delays, the concept of CS could be used here to reconstruct it from the cross-correlation of sub-Nyquist samples to estimate the location of the peaks and hence the DOA.
