Abstract :
In order to deliver higher fidelity flash radiography images of explosive trials, AWE requires a new generation of Pulsed Power sources. In the design presented here, a 3.5 Ω water-filled Pulse Forming Line, charged by a 4.7 MV Marx generator, would deliver 2 MV to a Plasma-Filled Rod-Pinch diode. This design would dramatically exceed AWE´s ageing Mini-B performance in radiation fluence, resolution and x-ray spectrum.
