Abstract
This study presents an approach for radar target identification using a parametric model of the radar scattering system. A parametric representation of the scattering system is derived from early-time responses under a high-frequency approximation. The representation includes two essential parameters for the expression of electromagnetic wave scattering. To demonstrate the practical application of this approach, parameters are estimated using experimental data obtained from different radar responses, and the performance of target identification using them is discussed.
