Abstract
In this paper, a reconfigurable antenna beam switching based on a new frequency selective surface is presented. The new unit cell used for this antenna is a combination of strip and six typical square loops. The simulation results show that the antenna produces a gain of 9.8 dBi at an operating frequency of 2.4 GHz. The antenna can scan the entire azimuth plane with 36° wide beam radiation in ten steps.
