The technical solutions that allow the achievement of electromagnetic compatibility of a device, of a system or of an instalations are numerous and often aparently conflicting. This paper insists on the need that these technical solutions should be used only within the framework of a well-developed outlook, which beggins by stating the scope and which elaborates a comparative, quantitative study of the performance of competing solutions in their key points.
