Abstract :
This paper presents a contactless method to sense rest tremors of hands using a magnetic induction sensor. This tool can quantitatively document tremor motion characteristics of patients for diagnosis of essential tremors or early Parkinson´s disease. The tremor signals can be analyzed in the time, frequency and time-frequency domains. Interferences from voluntary movements between 0 and 2 Hz were separated from the original signals. Various pathological frequency bands were segmented according to the clinical features of the tremors. Signal energies of the pathological frequency segments could be used for identifying tremor symptoms quantitatively.
